1920 to WW2 Royal Navy

Royal Navy 1920-1945. Last of the battleships, rise of the carriers. Royal Navy treaty-limited ships from the 1920s and 30s through to war-winning convoy escorts, destroyers and support group sloops.
Navis Neptune 's nicely detailed model of the name ship of what was probably Britain's most successful battleship class. KGV had a most successful war, sinking the Bismark along with Rodney among others, and heading the British Pacific Fleet at Sagami Bay for the Japanese surrender.

HMS Hermes was the first purpose-designed aircraft carrier to be built (although the Japanese Hosho was the first to be commissioned). She spent much of her time on the China station and was too small and obsolescent at the start of WW2. When the Japanese moved into the Indian Ocean in 1942, she was rapidly overwhelmed by aircraft and sunk.

Adventure was built in 1927 but when undergoing trials of minelaying at speed, it was discovered that the shape of the stern sucked mines back towards the ship. The stern was re-designed to the shape modelled here and  adventure became a successful design.
