Peco OO9 GR-310 Narrow Gauge Bolster Wagon Pair

Utilising the underframes for the Lynton and Barnstaple 4-wheel wagons Peco are producing generic narrow gauge flat and timber bolster wagons, which will be available in pairs.

Bolster wagon pairs were used to could carry long loads like tree trunks, the swivelling bolsters allowing the load some movement relative to the wagons on sharp curves. The bolsters could be coupled, with flat wagons acting as spacers for longer loads, or firmly attached to each end of a long, rigid load to act as bogies. Most narrow gauge lines kept a pair of bolsters on hand as these were very useful for moving lengths of rail up the line for track maintenance works.
