The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway 8 ton goods brake vans were built by the Bristol Carriage & Wagon Works in 1897, the company supplying three of these useful vehicles that could carry goods as well acting as the brake van and equipped with vacuum train brakes suitable for use with passenger trains.
This Peco model finished in Southern Railway goods brown livery as number 56039 replicates the rebuilt condition with the veranda end enclosed and features operating opening side doors, fine printing and metal rimmed wheels
