A simple kit to make 4 of these typical cast iron gas lamps.
The models built from these kits have all the character of a typical station gas lamp. Although based on a Midland Railway design this type of lamp was found more or less across the railway network from north to south. They will certainly finish off the station platform or street scene very nicely.
Full of detail, there is even a gas burner visible inside the lantern!
The unpainted plastic parts of the kit are crisply moulded and easy to assemble. Full instructions are included.
The real beauty of this kit is the fact that it can also be brought to life with light, illumination being feasible thanks to the hollow post. The modeller just has to fit a suitable LED or grain of wheat bulb.
We will be looking into the fitting of a bulb, thoughts are that a 3mm yellow LED,
eg Expo 25202 will give appropriately coloured illumination for oil, gas or early
incandescent electric lighting.
