WDS 1/1250 WDS K 017 HMS Ark Royal (IV)
Ark Royal (IV) is a 1/1250 scale waterline model of the large fleet carrier immediately before her first major refit in 1956. This model is cast in metal and fully painted and finished by WDS in Germany, catalogue number WDS K 017
The fourth ship to carry the name Ark Royal. She was building at the end of WW2 but work was suspended because of the large number of new carriers in service. Only when jet aircraft that were too large and fast to be operated from WW2 carriers did work resume and she completed as an angled deck carrier as modelled here.
