The Whitby class Type 12 Frigate included 6 ships of the Royal Navy. Designed as anti-submarine frigates. WITHBY was built byCammell Laird & Co and was commisioned in 1957. Max. 2600t displacement, 110 x 12m, max. 30 knots turbine drive via 2 screws, crew 152,later 225 people. 1977 sold for scrapping.
A 1/1250 scale metal waterline model of F14 HMS Leopard, a type 41 diesel-powered air defence frigate by Albatros SM Alk 343. The models is sharly cast with brass gun barrels and aerials and nicely painted with dark green decks, see photograph.
