Roberts class Monitor HMS Roberts was the first ship of two and used two 15" Mains Guns. 8 x 4" 105mm AA Guns. 16 QF 2 Pdr Pompoms and 20 x American Oerlikon 20 mm cannon. It had a shallow draught for operating inshore and a broad beam to help stability.
The ship during World War II participated in the "Torch" action, "avalanche" action, the Normandy landings and a series of allied fire support missions..
She had a sister ship HMS Abercrombie.
