Rustenburg Castle was a fast freighter built for the South Africa service by Harland & Wolff Belfast immediately after WW2. She and her sistership, Riebeck Castle, remained in service with the company until the end of the 1960s operating the general cargo and fruit freight service from northern European ports. Rustenburg Castle arrived at Shanghai on 19.9.71 for breaking although in that era the Chinese often continued trading such ships locally for a period of time before cutting them up.
