Early versions of the J & K class destroyers had X-turret facing forwards as on this model. This was done following a pre-war staff requirement, probably with surface engagements in mind. However, none of the guns could fire dead astern and this was where aircraft usually attacked ships from. After war commenced, all these ships had the after turret altered on refit to facing astern.
Many collectors think that Ensin models are 1/1200 scale but as many of them are licenced copies of HDS models, some are 1/1250 scale.
