Rhenania 1/1250 RJN119 Hughes Mining Barge submersible dock in 2012

A 1/1250 scale metal model of the Hughes Mining Barge up to 2012 when in use for Sea Shadow trials. The model is by Rhenania Junior RJN119.

The Hughes Mining Barge was built to facilitate the recovery of the wreck of the Soviet submarine K19 by the Glomar Explorer under the cover story of the Hughes Corporation Deep Ocean Mining exploration. It still exists, now under private ownership, but the helipad has been removed.
