The kit is designed as modular one, with 10 separate modules joined together to form the full length of the platform, plus the two ramp sections. This means that the kit is extremely versatile, and can be shortened, or lengthened by combining with another kit. It would even be possible to introduce a slight curvature to the platform and this is explained in the detailed instructions.
Post-grouping, during the 1920s and 30s, railway companies like the Great Western Railway were looking at ways of expanding passenger revenues by opening new, low-cost, halts to generate more traffic.
