South Wales Fire & Rescue cover the region of South Wales, providing fire prevention, protection, and emergency response services to the local communities within its jurisdiction.
It coves approximately 1,400 square miles, serving a population of around 1.4 million people. It encompasses the counties of Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Vale of Glamorgan. As well as firefighting they provide cover for rescue operations, and emergency medical response. They also engage in fire prevention and safety education initiatives, such as home safety checks and community awareness programs..
They work closely with other emergency services, including local police forces, ambulance services, and other fire and rescue services in neighboring regions. This collaboration ensures effective coordination during major incidents or large-scale emergencies.
