Navis Neptun 1/1250 1146 HMS Ajax Flagship at the Battle of the River Plate 1939

HMS Ajax (1146) is a second-hand, 1/1250 scale, metal model of the ship in 1939. This model is in superb, as new condition, see photograph.

She differs from her sistership, HMNZS Achilles (also in the Battle of the River Plate) in having twin 4"AA gun mountings, rather than the original single mounts fitted in Achilles. Almost all the Leander class were refitted with the heavier AA armament bu 1941.
