Mercator 1/1250 M515 Friesenland A Lufthansa seaplane tender of 1937-39

A 1/1250 scale second-hand model of the Friesenland a Lufthansa seaplane tender. This ship was purpose-built to support the Lufthansa transatlantic airmail service in 1937. The plastic masts and crane were missing from this model and have been replaced after reference to contemporary photographs.

This ship was used to service maritime reconnaissance seaplanes during WW2 and after the war ended, she was re-built as a refrigerated cargo carrier. CM has modelled the last version of the ship as V-ships Castel Nevoso.
