John's Model Shipyard RN504 Tribal Class Destroyer 1937-41 Waterline 3D-printed kit 1/1200
This model Tribal-class destroyer kit represents the ships as built with tall second funnel. As WW2 progressed most ships in the class had the second funnel reduced in height to improve the arcs of fire of the AA guns and it is the modified ships that have usually been modelled in this scale previously. This model is designed and 3D-printed by John's Model Shipyard, catalogue number RN504.
The Tribal-class is of a ship as built with a full-height second funnel, so the model has been painted up as HMS Cossack in 1940. Most of the other models of Tribals are of ships with second funnels cut down to improve the aecs of AA fire. Cossack was an early loss, so was an obvious choice for an as-built model.
