John's Model Shipyard 1/1200 IJN305 IJNS Yubari WW2 Japanese cruiser Waterline Kit
IJNS Yubari is a kit to build the Japanese cruiser as she was modified for service in WW2. The kit is 3D printed in resin by John's Model Shipyard (IJN305). Paint , glue and plastic or metal rod for topmasts are needed to complete this model, see photographs
Yubari was designed to provide the fastest, most heavily armed light cruiser on the minimum displacement in the 1020s and it was this design that led to the powerful heavy cruisers for Japan's navy in WW2. Perhaps too much had been attempted on the displacement on this experimental ship and the armament was reduced in 1943/44to produce a more useful ship. Most models of the ship show her in as-built configuration but this kit can be adapted to produce a model of the ship in April 1944 as shown in the larger photograph on the website.
