Hornby OO R3768 BR 32636 A1X Terrier Class 0-6-0T BR Late Crest
Model of the former LB&SCR A1X class 'Terrier' 0-6-0 tank engines, a design which had a long service life on minor branch lines across Southern England.
Model finished as British Railways 32636 with later lion holding wheel crest.
Era 5, 1957-1968
Nationalisation in 1948 had very little effect on Terrier 2636, the Newhaven Harbour based locomotive not receiving the new BR lined black livery and renumbering to 32636 until June 1950. Now the oldest locomotive on the Southern Region, the locomotive even received BR Diesel style numbering when repainted at Eastleigh in April 1962. Before heading into preservation in 1964, 32636 hauled the 'Hayling Farewell' on 3 November, 1963.
