Hansa 1/1250 S404 IJNS Ashigara
IJN Ashigara is a metal, waterline, 1/1250 scale second-hand model of the Japanese heavy cruiser by Hansa, S404. This model is in very good condition and comes with its original box and data sheet (see photographs). The e model comes in the very dark grey that Hansa chose to use for Japanese warship models and has tan decks to represent the linoleum that was used to cover the steel decks on Japanese cruisers to save weight and reduce injury to crew members from splinters caused by shell hits.
Ashigara was a Myoko-class cruiser and was often used as a flagship. She came to the UK for the Coronation Spithead Review in 1937 and was moored near the Graf Spee.
