Graham Farish N 371-015F BR 08895 Class 08 0-6-0 Diesel Shunter BR Blue Wasp Stripes
A detailed model of the BR class 08 diesel shunting locomotive with the prototypes outside frames and flycranks nicely recreated.
BR class 08 was the standard heavy shunting locomotive built for British Railways, having been developed from 'large' type diesel shunters built in the late 1930s for the GWR, LMS and LNER. Fitted with a 350bhp engine the shunter is geared to provide a high tractive effort at low speed, giving the locomotives maximum speed of just 15mph. Sturdy construction has given the 08s very long lives, with many still active today.
