60095 has been purchased by GB Railfreight to further expand their fleet and choice of locomotives. The class 60s provide greater traction for heavy freight trains at 60mph than the class 66, which was designed to allow running at 75mph, leading to 60s being preferred for the heaviest trains.
The Graham Farish class 60 models sets a very high standard for detail in N gauge. Careful design of the chassis has allowed the large grilles to retain sufficient depth to show the body structure members and internal equipment, replicating these visible parts on the real locomotives. Drive to both bogies is maintained from a centrally mounted motor, allowing realistic length trains to be hauled.
