Dundas Models OO9 DM42 4 ton Open Mineral Wagon Glyn Valley Tramway Pack of 5
Pack of 5 Glyn Valley Tramway 4 ton mineral wagon kits. These simple 4 wheel wagons were built to carry the stone quarries from the Glyn Valley to the canal and railway wharfs in Chirk. The wagons were a simple and robust design with a full-length drop side door. The top plank was fixed, increasing the strength and rigidity of the body.
The Glyn Valley Tramway owned three tram style engines and after WW1 purchased a Baldwin 4-6-0, which was fitted with a full cab (to be produced by Bachmann as model 391-029). The main business of the roadside tramway line was granite which was conveyed from the quarry to the GWR station at Chirk in these simple and robust 4-ton wood bodied wagons.
