Dapol OO 4F-040-031 GWR 4-Plank Open Wagon

The GWR built some 18,000 4 plank open wagons between 1886 and 1902 on robust iron or steel frames and fitted with modern oil lubricated axleboxes before WW1 the potential life of the 4 plank wagon fleet was assessed in the 1920s. Many wagons were still in good condition with an expected life of a further 10+ years, so were equipped with brakes on both sides to comply with the latest regulations and continued in service well into the 1930s.
