Chiltern Railways hire a small number of class 68 locomotives from DRS, with 68008-68015 equipped working push-pull services with BR mark 3 coaches.
This Dapol model features a heavy diecast chassis with centrally mounted motor with flywheels for smooth running. The finely moulded body has many separately fitted detail parts and etched nameplates are provided to cover the printed name detail. The directional lighting is independently controllable, allowing a range of lighting effects.
Dapol are producing this model of the DRS class 68 multi-purpose locomotives with the full co-operation of the builders, Vossloh, operator DRS and Chiltern Trains. The class 68s have been designed with both passenger and freight service in mind. We can expect to see these engines deployed on many locomotive hauled trains in the future, adding to the Chiltern and Caledonian Sleeper trains already being worked by the 68s
