Coastlines 1/1250 CL-TG01 Neptune, a Red Funnel Towing Steam Tug, 1930s-60s
This tug was new in 1910 and assisted Titanic into and out of her Southampton berth. Seen here in her smart 1930s to 1960s Red Funnel livery. See also CL-TG01A, Neptune in her early days, 1910 to 1930. The re-mastered model has extra fittings and more detailed painting than the photograph shows.
This model was first created by Marine Artist Models. It is rare to find a model of a specific tug made for the heyday of the Trans-Atlantic liners. Neptun was the first Southampton tug with a horizontal towing drum instead of a simple towing bollard. Trandatlantic liners were used to tugs with drums in New York.
