Coastlines 1/1200 CL-0009 Replacement Hull for Triang Bulker
Modern Triang bulk cargo carriers and tankers have were made from a MAZAK alloy which has re-crystallised since manufacture. This has resulted in increasing patches of less dense material within the model and distortion of the hull usually sagging or hogging of the model along its length, flaking paint and, eventually, cracking of the hull. It is not possible to correct this metal fault and the metal model has to be scrapped. The replacement resin hull enables the model to be re-built using the original metal superstructures and plastic detailing parts taken from the original model.
The principle is exactly the same for the Bulker as for the Tanker (see replacement hull, CL-0004). The replacement polyureathane resin hull has a flat waterline and preserves the proportions of the original design. The casting will retain a flat waterline for so long as it is displayed on a flat surface. The modfel can be painted to match the original with either acrylic or enamel paints.
