The set includes one each of 39-601 Brake Composite, 39-611 Composite, 39-621 Brake Third. Southern Railway Olive Green Livery.
One each of Bachmann's impressive South Eastern & Chatham Railway (SECR) 60-feet length passenger stock featuring raised, glazed lookouts in the roof over the guard's compartments. These raised lookouts gained the stock the birdcage sobriquet due to the similarity to an aviary enclosure.
Built between 1912 and 1915 these distinctive coaches had long service lives, the Southern Railway investing in electric trains rather than building new steam hauled stock suburban services. The SE&CR coaches proved very durable, many lasting almost 50 years, being withdrawn by British Railways ad new Mk.1 stock became available in the later 1950s. A number have survived into preservation and been restored to service.
This SR livery will match several Southern locomotive classes including the C class 0-6-0 and E4 class 0-6-2T produced by Bachmann and the H class 0-4-4 tank engines from Hornby.
