These 3F 0-6-0 side tank engines were the LMS standard heavy shunting engines. The design was developed from older Midland Railway shunting locomotives and, like many similar steam shunting engines the 3F proved quite capable at hauling branch passenger trains, local 'pick-up' goods trains and some were built for suburban passenger service.
Locomotive 47635 is modelled in the British railways plain black livery with lion holding wheel crest.
