A new and detailed model of the GWR style ;auto trailer coaches built by British Railways for use with class 14xx, 64xx and 4575 locomotives in push-pull trains. These coaches were constructed on 63ft underframes and given GWR series diagram numbers A38 and A40. Body construction was updated in style, with more modern smooth sides but followed the traditional GWR design with a three-window bowed front end, providing the driver with a good view of the line ahead when the coach was being propelled. The coaches were built in the early 1950s and so far as is known none carried chocolate cream livery in British railways service, however preseved coaches have been painted in the GWR livery by heritage railways.
