The first few Colony class cruisers to complete had 4 main gun turrets (as here) but as they entered service radar rangefinding was available and a turret was removed to provide extra AA armament (see the Uganda model) but the radar ranging increased the pecentage of hits from the reduced main armament, making a more effective and versatile cruiser.
