A highly detailed model of the former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 2-4-2 radial tank engines. The first batch of models is the early short bunker type and features cab interior detailing.
These smart locomotives were built for suburban and branch passenger operations, proving highly successful in both roles, with many lasting well into British Railways ownership. The 2-4-2 wheel arrangement was chosen for its' symetrical layout, offering equal speed and capability when running in either direction.
This model of BR 50795 is painted in the latre British Railways black livery with lion holding wheel crest and completed with a weathered finish, recreating the appearance of locomotive in service. Era 4 1948-1956.
