This model is finished as a 2-car unit in Network SouthEast 'stripes' livery, recreating a unit in service in the late 1980s and early 1990s working over non-electrified routes in the South East, home counties and East Anglia.
British Rails first generation diesel mechanical multiple units developed during the 1950s were a feature of BR operations for 40 years. The small, light-weight engines had a distinctive burbulling sound, rising to a rasping growl as the throttles were opened. The additon of a DMU sound system to the Bachmann range will bring back memories of the British Rail era.
