A model of the first of the second generation diesel unit trains. Intended for suburban duties the class 150 was fitted with two pairs of sliding doors, allowing rapid movement of passengers.
First Great Western have taken a number of these early class 150 units on lease, refurbishing them to strengthen the local lines fleet. This model of unit 105128 is painted in the FGW purple blue scheme with pink doors as applied to these units. Steadily growing business on the Great Western is likely to see these units remain in service until the electrification project is complete and new trains are introduced. Several 150 sets have already bee extended to 3 cars wiht an intermediate car from a 150/2 set.
Era 9 1994-current. DCC Ready. 6-pin decoder required for DCC operation. Chassis incorporates speaker housing.
