Dapol N 2S-012-012 LSWR 734 A1 Class Terrier 0-6-0T LSWR Lined Green Livery
Seeking a suitable motive power for the lightly-built Lyme Regis branch in 1903 the LSWR purchased two of the A1 class Terrier locomotives from the LB&SCR. Finished in the LSWR lined green livery number 734 was the former 46 Newington.
Unusually the Terriers were not quite what the LSWR needed and 734 was sold to the Freshwater, Yarmouth and Newport Railway on the Isle of Wight in 1914. Fittingly the engine is preserved and in service with the Isle of Wight Steam Railway as W8 Freshwater.
The Dapol Terrier model features a highly detailed body which can be produced as an original A1 or later A1X with diecast wheels and chassis to improve adhesive weight.
