The film follows the adventures of the Waterbury children on the
fictional 'Great Northern and Southern Railway' in Yorkshire. Director
Lionel Jeffries found everything he needed on the newly
preserved Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, using the restored station
at Oakworth as his primary location and the railways' fleet of
historic Edwardian era coaches for the trains.
