Track Fixings & Underlay

For OO and N Gauge

Blackened mild steel pins, 14mm (9/16") long. For fixing most Streamline track gauges to wood fibre board (Sundeala) or similar baseboard surfaces.

Note that these are fine pins, not nails and cannot be driven with a hammer. We recommend drilling through sleepers with a 0.5 or 0.7mm drill. When using plywood or chipboard continuing drilling into the board to get the pin started. The pin can normally be driven home with pliers or a small hammer.

Cork sheet offers an alternative to pre-shaped underlay rolls. Offering great sound insulation, cork can be cut into track wide strips, and manipulated to fit a layout. Generally 1/16th inch is used for 'N' gauge track, and 2.5mm thickness for 'OO' gauge layouts.

Longer track screws designed to be used on model railways and specifically flexible track. Better hold than nails and pins Allows easy removal without damaging the track. Easier and safer to fit than pins as they do not require a hammer. Characteristics: 10mm long (3/8in): enough to go through the sleepers and thick underlay. Self tapping: will create their own thread into the wood No pre-drilling required unless screwing into hard wood. Blackened: will not show in the middle of sleepers. Size: correct size to fit through holes in Peco and Hornby track. Recommended for OO, HO and On30 track. Each bag contains approximately 100 screws:
