An easy to construct kit building a model of a LMS style suburban or non-corridor brake coach with lavatory. These non-corridor lavatory coaches were used on longer distance local services, like mainline stopping trains, where some passengers might be spending some considerable time in the train. The lavatory could be accessed from the adjacent compartments, usually connected with a short side corridor. This kit is really easy to build! In the bag is an unassembled version of a 'ready-to-run' coach. The major parts are supplied as one-piece mouldings, including a bodyshell finished in LMS maroon complete with printed lining and lettering, interior, roof, underframe, bogies and wheels. These major components are complemented by spures of the additional parts needed to complete a detailed model.
Built between 1898 and 1902 by the Midland Railway, these elegant non-corridor coaches were built for use on express routes. The coaches were equipped with lavatory compartments accessible from the seating compartments on either side for passengers travelling longer distances and survived in secondary service LMS 'inter district' train sets until the British Railways era.
