The crew intended to fish for swordfish in the area of the Grand Banks, off Newfoundland, Canada. The vessel and six crew members were never seen again and presumed lost at sea in very bad weather, referred to as the 'Perfect Storm' by a meteorologist and made famous by Sebastian Junger's book that was later turned into a Hollywood movie.
