Low-flying subsonic ground-attack twin-fanjet aircraft, maiden flight in May 1972. Nicknamed “Warthog” by USAF aircrew, more than 700 A-10s were built from 1973 to 1982 and the type is still in service with the US Air Force. A-10C is the current platform standard with further potential for life-extension; plans to retire the A-10 and replace with the F-35 are on hold.

Cold War U.S. variable-wing supersonic bomber. 7 sprues. Improved nose gear parts. Air-to-ground weapons & metal pitot tube included. Choice of 4 markings: (1) F-111As of Det 1, 428th TFS, 474th TFW at Operation Combat Lancer, Takhli RTAFB, 1968. 66-0018 was the mount of the commander Lt Col Benjamin C Murph. Crew names were applied on their way back to the US; (2) F-111As of 429th TFS, 474th TFW, Nellis AB, Nevada, 1971. 67-0058 is a mount of C.O. Lt Col Robert D Anderson with two red stars from his two MiG kills by F-4C, Vietnam 1967; (3) F-111s of 3474th TFW, Takhli RTAFB, 1972-73. 429/430th TFS participated in Operation Constant Guard V / Linebacker II carrying ordnance more than 4 times that of F-4 Phantom IIs with no need for Wild Weasel, electronic countermeasure or tankers; (4) F-111s of 429/430th TFS, Takhli RTAFB, 1973. 347th TFW took command of these units with new tailcode of HG, and flew combat missions until its deactivation in June 1975 at Korat RTAFB. 1:48 scale model kit from Academy, requires paint and glue.

US Navy F-14D Tomcat "VF-2 Bounty Hunters" Fighter Aircraft. Advanced variant of the iconic Grumman F-14 series. The F-14D incorporated numerous upgrades over its predecessors, including more powerful GE F110 engines, an upgraded radar (AN/APG-71), and advanced avionics. US Navy Fighter Squadron VF-2 operated the F-14D during critical periods, including deployments supporting the Gulf War and later in operations over Iraq and Afghanistan. The squadron was nicknamed the "Bounty Hunters" with distinctive markings adorning the aircraft. Swing-wings can be built in maximum sweep or minimum sweep. Drop tanks and air-to-air weaponry included. RoKAF KF-5E Tiger II fighter, ca.1980s-present. The KF-5E Tiger II is a licence-built variant of the American Northrop F-5E Tiger II fighter aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force (RoKAF). Produced jointly by Korean Air Industries (airframe) and Samsung Precision (engines) in the 1970s to bolster the RoKAF's capabilities against the threat posed by North Korea. While newer and more advanced fighters have been introduced, the KF-5E continues to play a vital role in South Korea's air defence. Reboxed Ace Corporation kit comprising 2 sprues plus clear parts.
