Tremo, or "Treforest Mouldings" were a series of metal ship models and other diecast accessories. As the name suggests, they were made in Wales by a refugee from Europe. The models themselves are similar in style to models made by Pilote in Denmark, Comet in USA and early Wiking models from Germany. and several of the models were originated by a Swedish diplomat who had posts in all of those countries before and during WW2.
Some of these models have been overpainted by a previous owner includingwooden deck colours applied to the larger ship models. The maker was interned during WW2 and the factory was burnt down but some models were still on sale after WW2 ended. One of the models has the legend, British Made cast on the underside and another says, "Made in England"!
