Saratoga Model Shipyard 1/1250 SMY66 USS Solace AH-5 the hospital ship at Pearl Harbor 1941

A 1/1250 scale metal waterline model of the hospital ship Solace. This ship was the passenger ship, SS Iraquois which was modified as a hospital ship in 1940. She was serving with the US Pacific fleet based at Pearl Harbour in December 1941 and it was from her after deck that one of the doctors on board filmed the attack on Pearl Harbour including footage of the explosion of the foward magazine of the battleship USS Arizona.
