Saratoga Model Shipyard SMY60 USS Sumner (AG 32) 1941 1/1250
A 1/1250 scale model of the former submarine tender, Bushnell, became a Hydrographic Survey vessel in 1937 and was re-named "Sumner". She was at Pearl Harbor Submarine Base during the Japanese attack & shot down a plane & assisted damaged ships. Thereafter, she surveyed occupied islands in pacific for landing sites etc. before US troops were landed and in May 1946, went to Bikini Atol for preparations for A-bomb tests. Sold for scrap in 1948.
