Ben Woollacott is the first new Woolwich ferry for 55 years. The ship is named after a young deckhand on the old ferry who was tragically killed in 2011 when he became tangled in the mooring ropes as the ship sailed.
The new sister-ship is Dame Vera Lynn, see model RJ334, and they commenced the free service together in February 2019.
