Rhenania 1/1250th RHE191C Volgoneft 239, the superanuated Russian River Tanker that was damaged and grounded in the Black Sea in 2024
Volganeft 239 is a 1/1250 scale, waterline, metal model of the Russian River Tanker that was abandoned and grounded on the shore of the Black Sea in December 2024 after some of the crew re-boarded the vessel in an attempt to save the vessel. In the same storm, Volganeft 212 broke in half and sank off the entrance to the Sea of Azov. The model was made by Rhenania, Rhe 191C.
Although Volganeft 212 was sunk in the same storm and the ship would have been in the same livery, a few weeks before the storm, the ship was in dock and a damaged slice was removed from the middle of the ship and the two ends were welded together making a shorter ship. According to some of the surviving crew, the ship split in two along the line of the weld and the entire cargo spilled in the sea.
