The Fw 200 Condor, in its time one of the most up-do-date long-range aircraft in the world, was converted at the beginning of World War II into a bomber or sea reconnaissance plane for the Luftwaffe. In 1942 the Fw 200 C-4 became the mostbuilt Condor version. It was used both as a long-range reconnaissance plane and as a bomber against sea targets. One of the most important roles of the Fw 200 was tracking convoys and transmitting the necessary information for an attack to the German submarines.
