Derived from the famed combat tank Panzer V "Panther", the "Jagdpanther" tank destroyer proved its superiority in battle over all its Allied opponents due to its successful combination of mobility, armoured protection and fire power. The tank destroyer "Panther" with an 88.mm Pak 43/3 L/71 anti-tank cannon was produced from January 1944 onwards.
