The new F/A-18E Super Hornet is the most up-to-date US Navy fighter and combat aircraft and since 1999 has replaced the F-14 and F/A-18C Hornet in active service. Compared with its predecessors it has 30% larger dimensions, engines with more powerful thrust and a considerably longer range.

Enemy targets can be attacked with significantly greater precision through the use of JDAM and "Laser Guided Bombs". The F/A-18E also has an extensive arsenal of the latest generation of guided missiles at its disposal.
