The Camaro came on the market in 1966 in response to the enormous popularity of compact sportscars.
As expected, the pony car was made available with various features. The Z/28 was a special version,
designed to take part in a US racing series. Sales of the first generation Z/28 Camaro hit their
peak in 1969 with 20,000 sold.
