Just like our model railways the real railway has been using motorised points for many years. A powerful machine is needed to move and secure the points with sufficient pressure for safe use with high speed trains and these silver grey point motor housings are a familiar sight, mounted alongside the point work.
Unlike the real thing these units aren't able to operate your model points as well, but will help you complete the detailing of your track for any layout set from the 1960s onwards.
