A detailed plastic kit building a model of a British Railways all-steel welded construction 13 ton hopper wagon. Based on an existing LNER design steel bodied hopper wagon over 2,600 were built between 1949 and 1953 to diagrams 1/142 and 1/144. Initially built for domestic coal distribution service in the North East where stations often had coal drop staithes some escaped in later years, having been found suitable for sand and stone traffic all around the UK. The last examples were withdrawn form aggregates service in the early 1980s as BR eliminated 'unfitted' wagons.
