An excellent model of the R101, that crashed in France on 5th October 1930 during its very first voyage, killing 48 people. It was one of the worst airship disasters that, along with that of the Hindenberg, so coloured international public opinion of lighter-than-air craft that British employment of rigid airships was effectively ended.
